Elementary School
Students in 3 and 4 will be taking the State-wide test: Forward Exam in March/April.
For 3rd graders, they will have English and Language Arts (ELA) and Math.
For 4th graders, the students take ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Middle School
Students in 5-8 will be taking the State-wide test: Forward Exam in March/April.
The 5th, 6th, and 7th graders take tests in the areas of ELA and Math.
The 8th graders take tests in the areas of ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
High School
The 9th and 10th graders take the ACT Aspire testing. This testing measures a student's progress towards the ACT College and Career Readiness Standards and Benchmarks.
In addition, 10th graders take the State Forward Testing for Social Studies.
All juniors will be taking the ACT with writing at Hilbert High School during the spring of their junior year. This is a state-mandated requirement for all juniors and is paid for by the school district.
If juniors or seniors want to retake the ACT test, there are additional testing dates offered at other school sites for an additional fee. Register at the link Register for the ACT
In addition to the ACT, all juniors will be taking Pre-ACT. The Pre-ACT is a practice exam to rehearse the mechanics of the questions and experience the timed test setting with the directions.
Juniors also have the choice to take the PSAT. Students who take the PSAT have added practice in understanding what is expected on the ACT. The added bonus of taking the PSAT is the student could qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
