Academic Award Criteria
Students begin accumulating academic points at the time they become enrolled at Hilbert High School. An academic letter will be awarded to students who have earned nine honor points, or have been on an honor roll for seven consecutive semesters. Honor points are earned as follows:

- A “Bronze” Lamp of Learning Medal is awarded when the academic letter is earned with the 9 honor points.
- A “Silver” Lamp of Learning Medal is awarded when 3 additional honor points are earned beyond the 9.
- A “Gold” Lamp of Learning Medal is awarded when 3 additional honor points are earned beyond the 12.
- An Academic Excellence Plaque, engraved with the student’s name, is awarded for 18 + honor points.
- A “Gold Achievement Medal” will be awarded to students who have earned a letter & have met one of the following criteria –
- Earned a B or above in an advanced placement (AP) course
- Earned a B or above college level dual credit course (i.e, Start College Now/Early College Credit Programs, transcripted credit, CAPP)
Only one Achievement medal will be awarded per semester if a student is enrolled in several courses that meet the above criteria.
